Winter Break Read: Courageous Conversations About Race by Glenn E. Singleton

After hearing about this book at the NCTE conference, I knew I had to dive in—and wow, it’s been transformative! Halfway through, I’m convinced that EVERY educator, parent, and administrators should read this.

Singleton provides invaluable insights into how racism shapes worldviews and equips educators with tools to create equitable schools where ALL students can shine. As a teacher in an international school, l’m already applying what I’ve learned, engaging more openly with conversations about race and fostering equity in my classroom.

This book doesn’t tell you what to think—it shows you how to have meaningful, courageous conversations. While these discussions can be uncomfortable, they are essential. Singleton inspires school leaders and educators to take action for equity and justice.

If you’re passionate about building a truly inclusive learning environment, this book is a must-read!
