This is a cute and humorous book. Andy’s cat named Simon is jealous that Andy’s mom is going to get a pet dog named Baxter. Simon starts writing Baxter aka “Beast” letters persuading him to move out because there isn’t enough room in Andy’s life for two pets. You can see that Simon is a great speller and Baxter needs lots of help in his spelling. It is definitely a good book if you are teaching letter writing and editing skills.
