Lucky Duck

I recently had the joy of sharing Greg Pizzoli’s picture book, “Lucky Duck “ with my students. It was a experience as laughter filled the classroom and excitement grew with every page we turned.

Pizzoli again showcases his storytelling talent with this story of Susan the duck and her string of misfortunes. From roller skates, to gifts from a questionable wolf the narrative unfolds with charm and cleverness that captivates readers of all ages.

What makes “Lucky Duck” stand out is its take on the theme of predators and prey. While the wolf presents a presence it’s actually the bug that steals the spotlight by coming to Susans aid. This surprising partnership adds richness to the story. Reinforces messages of friendship and ingenuity.

Lets not forget to mention Pizzoli’s standout illustrations in “Lucky Duck.” With their retro flair and vibrant hues the artwork not enhances the narrative. Also provides a visual treat for readers. The larger, than life characters practically jump off the pages drawing readers into Susans world of whimsy and excitement.

This book is a choice, for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the realm of childrens’ stories. Whether shared aloud in a classroom setting or read as a bedtime tale it promises to bring smiles and warmth to all who delve into its pages.
