The 1619 Project: Born on the Water

I love books that touch on racism, diversity and identity. “The 1619 Project: Born on the Water” is absolutely stunning... It all started with a question by a little girl who wants to know where her ancestors came from and her grandmother’s narrative made me realise that we should not deny the history of the African-American citizens. I know for sure that we can’t change the ugly past, but we must tell the truth especially to the new generation. Although the storyline sounds tragic, it is important to introduce and discuss with children the truth and give credit to the builders of America.
