It’s such a hilarious book! If you like “An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" you will love this story. Chewing gum at bedtime is not a good idea especially when it gets stuck in your hair. The girl wants to get a piece of gum out of her and, her family has funny and ridiculous ways to remove it. It seems that with every suggestion given, something new gets stuck in her hair. My class kids were laughing all the way and they made text-to-text connections with “I know an old lady who swallowed a fly" and with another picture book "Too Much Glue". I liked how Adam Rex added in different shades of pink which represent a bubble gum. My class kids love silly stories and this book tickled them from cover to cover.
