I am adding the series of Grumpy Monkey books. I love how the author highlighted the real emotions that some children face. The story line shows a great way to help children not feel alone in their feelings. My class kids love the character Jim Panzee. Jim was looking forward to the sleepover at his parents’ tree house and the whole idea is that he will not be sleeping but staying up all night. They could relate it well with the idea of no sleeping at the sleepover. One question that popped out during reading with my kids - will staying up all night make Jim Panzee a grumpy monkey? This is a great book to open discussion about anxiety.
